     If you have proprietary software please seek one out.  If you have a small business it is necessary to create one, with your development team and outside team which can effectively manage the environment with minimal intrusion and downtime.  Documentation is key in case of an emergency.

     If you have third party software already in place you could also have an SLA in place which covers future upgrades, price, support, emergency management and security.

     If you're only using Microsoft and you are using a server, you need to manage upgrades, security and have a good life cycle management plan in place.  An example is WindowsXP which is completely out of its life cycle and can no longer be effectively managed!

     Then once everything is in place and perfected you need a third party solution who's SLA provides minimal intrusion, minimal fees to make sure your network maintains HillTAP's industry standard of 99.999% percent uptime.
